Overseas manufacturing, quick answers

What is overseas manufacturing management?
Overseas manufacturing management is engaging foreign factories to produce parts on your behalf, including supplier selection, tooling, sampling, QC, freight and customs. GSN runs this end-to-end as your in-house procurement team.
What processes does GSN cover overseas?
CNC machining (3/4/5 axis), sheet metal fabrication, injection moulding, die casting, sand casting, investment casting, 3D printing, extrusion, stamping and assembly.
What does end-to-end actually mean?
Tooling, samples, supplier negotiation, production oversight, in-line and final QC, ocean or air freight, customs brokerage, duties, GST and final-mile delivery in Australia. One brief, one team, one invoice.
How does GSN protect quality on overseas runs?
Suppliers are vetted as engineers, process capability, materials, tolerance history, capacity and audit reports. First-article and in-line inspection. Final QC against your drawing before container release.

/ Processes

CNC machining.

3-, 4- and 5-axis milling and turning in steel, aluminium, stainless, brass, titanium and engineering plastics. Tolerances to ±0.01 mm where the drawing demands it. Suited to brackets, housings, shafts, valve bodies and aerospace components. See our CNC machining sourcing page for detail.

Sheet metal fabrication.

Laser cutting, punching, press-brake forming, welding and powder coating. Mild steel, stainless, aluminium and galvanised. Enclosures, panels, frames, brackets and weldments to drawing.

Injection moulding.

Multi-cavity tooling, family tools and over-moulding. ABS, PP, nylon, polycarbonate, TPE and engineering compounds. Tooling validated with sample shots and DFM review before steel is cut.

Casting, 3D printing & assembly.

Investment casting for fine-detail parts. Die casting for high-volume aluminium and zinc. SLA, SLS and metal SLM 3D printing for prototypes and short runs. Sub-assembly and full-product assembly with packaging and labelling to your spec.

/ Why it works

Engineering-led.

We evaluate suppliers the way an engineer would: process capability, tolerance history, materials, capacity. Not just price.

One team.

No layered brokers. You speak to the same person from brief to delivery.

Onshore safety net.

If overseas slips or a part needs onshore finishing, McIver Engineering in Sydney picks it up.

/ On the ground

Supplier audits on the ground.
