What casting processes do you source?
Sand casting for large iron and steel parts, investment (lost-wax) casting for high-detail steel and stainless components, gravity and high-pressure die casting for aluminium and zinc, and centrifugal casting for cylindrical parts. We match process to volume, tolerance and surface requirements.
What forging processes do you source?
Closed-die (drop) forgings for high-strength steel components, open-die forgings for large shafts and rings, cold forging for fasteners and precision blanks, and rolled ring forgings for flanges and bearing races.
What materials can be cast or forged?
Grey and ductile iron, carbon and alloy steels (1045, 4140, 4340, 8620), stainless (304, 316, 17-4 PH, duplex), aluminium (A356, ADC12, 6061 forging grade), brass, bronze and specialty alloys including Inconel and titanium.
How is quality controlled on castings and forgings?
Material certificates (EN 10204 3.1), dimensional reports, dye penetrant, magnetic particle, ultrasonic and X-ray NDT as specified. Heat treatment and machining allowances agreed up front. Critical parts pulled to McIver Engineering in Sydney for final machining and inspection.
What are typical minimum order quantities?
Investment castings run economically from ~100 pieces. Sand castings from ~10 pieces for large parts. Die castings need volume, usually 1,000+ per year to justify tooling. Forging MOQs depend on die complexity, typically 500 to 5,000 pieces per run.

Sand, investment and die castings, plus closed-die forgings, sourced overseas and delivered to Australia. Every program engineered from Sydney by people who have run patterns and dies on their own shop floor.

Investment casting.

Lost-wax investment casting for high-detail stainless, carbon steel and superalloy components. Tolerance to CT5, surface finish 3.2 Ra, part weights 10 g to 50 kg. Ideal for valve bodies, pump housings, hardware, defence and mining hardware.

Sand & die casting.

Green-sand and resin-shell sand casting for iron and steel parts up to several tonnes. High-pressure die casting in aluminium and zinc for consumer, automotive and electrical enclosures. Gravity die casting for medium volumes in aluminium.

Closed-die forging.

Closed-die (drop) forgings in 1045, 4140, 4340, 8620 and stainless steels. Grain flow, mechanical properties and NDT documented per your spec. Rolled ring forgings for flanges and bearing races on request.

Post-processing & QC.

Heat treatment (annealing, normalising, quench & temper), CNC machining of critical features, shot blast, plating, powder coat, painting. NDT (DPI, MPI, UT, RT) and mill certificates per EN 10204 3.1 available on request.
