What is injection moulding?
Injection moulding is a high-volume plastic manufacturing process where molten polymer is injected under pressure into a hardened steel or aluminium mould, cooled, and ejected as a finished part. It is the default process for consumer housings, enclosures, closures and functional components in volumes from ~1,000 to millions of units.
What plastics do you source parts in?
ABS, polypropylene (PP), polycarbonate (PC), nylon (PA6, PA66, glass-filled variants), POM (acetal), PET, PBT, TPE, TPU, silicone, PMMA and engineering grades like PEEK. We match resin selection to spec, environment and regulatory requirements.
What tooling options do you offer?
Aluminium prototype tools (500 to 5,000 shots), P20 hardened tools (100,000 to 500,000 shots), and full production H13 tooling with hot-runner systems and multi-cavity layouts. Tooling is stored in-country and remains your property.
Do you handle DFM before tooling is cut?
Yes. Every mould program starts with a DFM review covering wall thickness, draft, gate location, parting line, ejector strategy, warp, sink and cycle time. We resolve issues before steel is cut, not after.
Can you handle overmoulding, IMD and inserts?
Yes. Two-shot overmoulding, in-mould decoration (IMD), in-mould labelling (IML) and metal insert moulding are all handled through our vetted partner network.

/ How it works

DFM & tooling.

Every program starts with a full DFM pass on your CAD. We fix wall thickness, draft, gate location, parting line and warp risk before tooling steel is cut. Aluminium prototype tools for early runs, P20 for medium volumes, H13 with hot-runner and multi-cavity layouts for full production.

Sampling & approval.

T1, T2 and T3 sample shots with dimensional and cosmetic reports. Approval loops managed from Sydney so you are never guessing what the next set of parts will look like.

Production & QC.

Multi-cavity, hot-runner production with in-line SPC and AQL-based sampling. Overmoulding, in-mould decoration, in-mould labelling and metal insert moulding all supported. Critical programs are pulled back to McIver Engineering in Sydney for final QC before release.

Resin range.

ABS, PP, PC, PC/ABS, PA6, PA66, glass-filled nylons, POM, PET, PBT, TPE, TPU, silicone, PMMA and PEEK. Colour matching, UV stabilisers, flame retardants and food-contact grades all specified up front.
